Mir Sreče. The NGO Mir Sreče was founded in 1999
and has been active ever since. Our main goal is to help people
with mental illness of any kind, if possible without hospitalisation.
We seek total rehabilitation in every user we work with. Our
work is based on first hand experience and user's collaboration.
We feel that in order to help someone, we must really be involved
and understand what we are doing. However we also bring professionals
to help us. We started as a very small NGO, but we are growing
rapidly. In the year 2002 our work has extended a couple of
times comparing to the year before, and still growing ·

- * VEZI. Formed in 1998 by relatives
of mentally ill people living in Carst, Slovenia, currently has
75 members. Our aim is to develop health, social and work rehabilitation.
We help to solve the family's problems with education and with
development of self-help groups for families and users. In our
two day-centres, (torje and tanjel) established with
the assistance of Hamlet Trust, we develop different aims of work,
including souvenir art, culinary art and growing vegetables. We
encourage the development of our members' creative abilities,
and have engaged the wider public through successful art exhibitions
and press articles and now with an art gallery in tanjel.
Recently we opened a new group-home in Brestovica, also established
with Hamlet's assistance. There are 6 men and women, who have
now found a home after long-term stays in hospital. We are keen
to develop and maintain ties with other similar organisations.Contact:
