  • * ALTRA – Committee for Innovations in Mental Health. Established in 1988, Altra – is a non-governmental organisation with a full respect of integrated and interdisciplinary approach to the psychosocial distress of an individual. In the last few years, Altra has covered a wide range of services and offers help to people with problems in mental health and other people in crisis.   • Mir Sreče. The NGO Mir Sreče was founded in 1999 and has been active ever since. Our main goal is to help people with mental illness of any kind, if possible without hospitalisation. We seek total rehabilitation in every user we work with. Our work is based on first hand experience and user's collaboration. We feel that in order to help someone, we must really be involved and understand what we are doing. However we also bring professionals to help us. We started as a very small NGO, but we are growing rapidly.   • * VEZI. Formed in 1998 by relatives of mentally ill people living in Carst, Slovenia, currently has 75 members. Our aim is to develop health, social and work rehabilitation. We help to solve the family's problems with education and with development of self-help groups for families and users. In our two day-centres, (Štorje and Štanjel) established with the assistance of Hamlet Trust, we develop different aims of work, including souvenir art, culinary art and growing vegetables. We encourage the development of our members' creative abilities, and have engaged the wider public through successful art exhibitions and press articles and now with an art gallery in Štanjel. Recently we opened a new group-home in Brestovica, also established with Hamlet's assistance. There are 6 men and women, who have now found a home after long-term stays in hospital.
